Why we shouldn’t keep animals in zoos

My name is Noah and I strongly believe that animals should not be kept in zoos.  Why we put them in cages is for our own entertainment, but isn’t it just sad for the animals? They don’t have to be in an enclosure for you could go see the animal yourself,  so they don’t have to be locked up in fake enclosures.

Firstly If we keep them in the same cage for the rest of their lives they aren't learning for themselves. People are just giving them what they need and the predators aren’t learning to hunt, their just getting fed.

Secondly at some zoos they make the enclosure to small and the animals don’t have enough space to roam and explore.  Also where do the first animals come from? Do they take them away from their families for example, Sissy the elephant was taken rip away from her family when she was a 1 year old, how would you like it if you were taken from your family?

Thirdly if their endangered then we could put them in a nature reserve and let the animals thrive so they have a stronger chance of surviving and then when they're ready they can go back out to the wild.

Fourthly  If you think you can’t learn about them there's lots of documentaries about various animals in their natural habitats. There is also safaris where  people can go observe and experience African animals in the wild.

So if you're taken away from your home put into a small cage and was there just to be looked at, would that be fair? So in conclusion that's why I think we shouldn’t keep animals in zoos, after all we're animals too.
